He might have meant an old ref. Unless you are buying large amouts for long term storage, the climate control thing is over blown. Keep it dry, keep it reasonably cool (below 90deg). It will last along time. I store mine in original containers in a wood cabinet in my garage reloading area. Many fire codes require a wood cabinet 1" thick construction.

Hate to say it, but keeping powder in your gunsafe (regardless of its fire rating) is an extremely bad idea...

I usually leave mine on my reloading bench (in my apt) unless they are looking at the sprinklers, then it resides in the back of my closet.

Thanks for all of the replies. I knew it needed to stay in the original container since you do not want to mix up the powder.

It sounds like ill be fine if its kept in the house and not in direct sunlight or near a heater or anything like that.

I handloaded for several years in an apt. I built my reloading setup in a coat closet & added a lock to keep nosey landlords out. Your call.
