Is it legal in the United States for a private citizen to own armor piercing ammo or does 922r make it illegal to own?

I've got a bunch of it for 8mm, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, .30-'06, 7.62 NATO, 5,45x39.5, 12,7mm and 14,5mm, and .50....ATF has seen what I have and said 'cool'...
