New Hornady TAP Personal Defense Ammo
I do alot of predator hunting and Hornady has the best ammo that I use for that particular task. What do you all think about Hornady's TAP ammo for personal defense??

Very good ammo.
I have used it for a long time in my XD service and just started in my XDsc, both in .40 S&W. Kent

I have converted to Hornady XTP in my carry weapons. I think it is great ammo. It's even a bit less expensive than some of the other big name brands.

It's OK - I've used them on my AR and a friend uses them on his 1911. Accuracy is very good, as with most Hornady rounds & expansion is just decent. I'll be honest though, they are a bit pricey for just a flashy black nickel-coated casing on their regular V-max HP bullet.. I can't imagine they're using a different propellant from their other HP offerings.
As stated above XTP's might be a better choice for all out expansion for the price if you're chosing the Hornady line, but the Vmax/Amax-tipped rounds might deliver better precision, at a slightly higher cost. In the end both are very good rounds, you make the call based on your needs.

I've got about 200 rnds of Hornady TAP 5.56 for the AR's. I've never shot anything other then paper with them though, haven't had a problem.

I just bought two boxes for my XD9. I'm going to shoot through a box next trip to the range to see how they fare.
They certainly look good...but HST is a lot cheaper.

I thought they were okay. The girl at the gun shop talked me out of Gold Dots and said the TAP .45 +P was way better. Eh. Excellent accuracy, but expansion was inconsistent and the jackets separated pretty easily.
