Best 380 round

O.k., I'm one of those Ruger LCP buyers and I would like to know what some of you have found to be the best and most reliable round for personal protection. Help.

The lack of response means either nobody knows and can't help......, or everyone knows and I am just an idiot for not knowing myself. True, it is not the most entertaining topic, however it would be helpful to me in my decision making.

Try the Speer 90gr. Gold Dot.The 102 gr. Rem . Golden Sabre is good too and gives a little more penetration.

Missed this because I was at work ...

The supposed best thing going in 380 is the Corbon DPX. I understand it was specifically designed for the short barrel 380's like the Kel-Tec P3-At ... And the Legally Cloned Pistol that Ruger makes
But I would never knock the Gold Dot or Golden Sabre.

You might want to give it more than 4 hours to get a response....
If you would have asked for 45ACP recommendations, the responses would have probably crashed the server....

I shoot WWB target ammo for practice in my LCP.
I then shoot a couple mags of Speer Gold Dot SB (Short Barrel).
And that is what I carry in it for self defense.
Speer Ammo - Short Barrel

380 Detail... Detail Page for Part # 23606

Despite those who have a Kel-Tec and wish they had an LCP,
I think Ruger made the gun better, and a better gun........
Thank God no one ever copied the 1911 pistol........
Good luck with your LCP.
I'm very happy with mine and no problems after 150+ rounds.

yea . shop in pasadena had one on hold for a guy that didnt come through and they decided to put it on the shelf when i was there picking up some reloading stuff . i saw it and bought it right away . it was 289 + tax which i thought was a great deal considering that was probably the only one in stock in the houston area that was up for grabs and not on hold . i bought some wwb for target and some winnies 95gn sxt's and im going to see how they both do today later at the range .

Corbon DPX is my choice for .380. I carry it every day in my P3AT.

Or the SAA Colt, the S&W double action revolver, the Glock striker fire Safe Action or the...

For a 380, I'd say DPX. It needs some pop and some poof. DPX gives both.
