Any factory ammo that should be avoided?

A lot has been posted about problems with target style semi-wadcutters causing feeding problems. Are there any other factory loads that have caused you any feeding problems with your XD? I am looking for a good high quality 230 grain hollowpoint that I can bet my life on in this gun.

So far, at the time of this, there have been 50 viewings. Am I to infer then that the XD will eat just about every factory load exceps SWC's?

Only one way to find out...

Every gun is different. What's healthy for your XD could be poison for mine. Generally speaking most ammo from reputable manufacturers runs well. That's assuming FMJ/JHP.

anything in a steel case . . . LOL I don't like Blazer either, to dang dirty

for practice I usually shoot either WWB or UMC Rem, both in 230g ball

for defense, I like Hornaday Custom 230g JHP/XTP +P, usually buy two boxes a year for my carry gun, one for practice and one for carry.

The only ammo I try to stay away from is wolf. Too many horror stories.

As far as I know, the XD's will eat most anything other than SWC. As some have posted, they prefer certain brands - a few have had several misfires with Wolf, some think blazer is dirty - not a problem to me b/c I clean my guns after every firing.

Blazer and Whitebox are cheap and reliable.

Yep.... Any ammo not recommended would be for personnel reasons and not because of the gun. Oh, stay away from tracer rounds they are not good for the barrels.

I steer clear of Wolf. Didn't care too much for them in my Makarov and I'm not going to put my XD through that.

I don't mind the Blazer stuff for plinking--it's fairly inexpensive. I just picked up 500 rds of factory loaded 230gr FMJ from Georgia Arms over the weekend. It's pretty good stuff and reasonably inexpensive ($140 for 500rds in a military 7.62mm can).
