How do you like the LnL press?

So far so good. But I have one complaint about it, that is you have to modify the wire to make it a true 5 station press. My Lee Factory Crimp Die won't work on station 5 because the ejector wire gets in the way. This is not a problem as I have found I don't need the crimp die for 308 and 223, with crimp or without crimp, accuracy and velocity is the same.
I have not loaded pistol cartridges yet, for this I will defiantely need to use a crimp die. Or I can just take out the powder check die on station #4 and put the crimp die in it's place. Right now my press is set like this: #1 - Sizing and Deprime #1a - Priming (this is technically a station but no die here so I do not consider it a station) #2 - Powder Drop #3 - Seating #4 - Powder Check (or Crimp Die) #5 - Blank (but would love to run or Factory Crimp Die here since I am pulling the lever anyways, might as well crimp) |

Nice Eric...how long did the rebate for the bullets take? I sent the forms out about 2 weeks ago.
I haven't had any issues w/ pistol cartidges on station #5 yet (knock on wood), but then again I'm using Hornady's flavor of TC die which seems to do the trick.

The way I look at it, I want to shoot a certain amount of ammo per month so I can become a decent shooter. Reloading should help me shoot more for the same amount of cash I am spending now. I have a monthly budget for ammo, and hopefully reloading will help me be able to put more lead down range. But I don't think I will save money, just get to shoot more.

Do you have a chrono? Do you have a scale? Calipers? Those three tools are really needed to make accurate loads. But also, what kinda bullet? what kinda casing are you using? What powder? primer? I have a starting point for H4895, H335, and HVarget for LC brass and the following bullets: 223 55gr FMJ, 223 69gr HPBT, 308 147gr FMJ, 308 168gr HPBT. For plinking loads, I like 55gr FMJ in LC Brass, 24gr H335, with CCI 400 primer, 2" for 20 shot groups. It is slightly underpowered at 100FPS slower than M193, but again this is for plinking and no need to stress the gun for the sake of plinking. I have also found 23gr of H335 reliably cycles so you can make even less pressure if you want, but this low and accuracy will suffer. |

I think it was about 8 weeks. I kinda forgot about it, so when the bullets came home I was pleasantly surprised |
