8 pounds = how many rounds of 5.56/.233?

Simple question I hope:

I'm figuring the costs for reloading .223, and I am curious how many rounds can you load when buying the 8 pound containers of powder?

Thanks for your help!

There are 7000 grains in 1 pound. Figure out how much powder you're going to use, and do the math.

1lb = ~7000gr
Let's assume you're reloading at 25gr, you'd have 280rnds,
at 8lbs, you'd have around 2240rnds.

Hope this helps.

FYI, google has an awesome calculator feature that will convert just about any measurement you can think of.

Try typing this into google:
8 pounds to grains

Wow, that is harsh. The math is easy once you know the conversion factor. I was simply hinting at a shortcut for finding some of the more obscure conversion factors.

Can you tell me off the top of your head how tall you are in smoots? Google can:
5 feet 10 inches to smoots
