My favorite:
7.62 Nato Brass; 150gr Hornady #3037 FMJ/BT 41.5gr Alliant RE-15 WLR Winchester Primer Max OAL - 2.80" I seat @ cannelure and its about right. Commercial .308 brass; all the same except increase powder charge to 43.5gr

oal = "over - all - legnth" of the round once the bullet is seated in.
It is pretty much a retarded acrynym. it should be just OL, obviously the guy who coined it and all that followed him do not know proper English. |

I just ventured into my first rifle reloading, with my M1A. I used Sierra 168 gr SMK, military brass and IMR-4895 powder. My OAL was 2.80. I loaded 40, 40.5, 41, 41.5, 42, 42.5 and 43 grains. My best accuracy was 1.3 inches with 41.0 gr. I went up in loads and came back to 41.0 and it repeated. One book says this is 2440 fps, another says 2550. Who cares, it is accurate and gentle shooting. I just shoot off a bench, so it does all I can ask. It also shoots point of aim at the steel at 150, 175, and 200. Try it.
