.308 Powders for hunting loads
Welp, I figure its high time I got to making up a load for my new Icon .308's intended purpose, and I view this as a chance to add yet another powder to my collection. Since I got the rifle, I've been using IMR 4895, which has served me well (sub-MOA at 200 yards), but its reputation for temperature sensitivity has me thinking a different powder might be a better choice for hunting, as I imagine a load developed in our wonderful Texas almost-100º heat probably wont be quite the same in an Arkansas winter. What powders are yall using for your .308's for 150 gr. bullets?

I think yuo are fine w/ 4895. If you just want something diff. try RL15 or VV140 under a 150gr bullet for a hunting load.

I have used 4895 and RE-15. I've hunted from Mexico all the way up to Alaska. Never a problem.

Well, kinda random bringing this back up, but I tried a pound of Varget, and couldnt be happier...
A 45.5 gr. charge under a 150 gr. Hornady SST gave me a barely-over 1" group at 300 yards
