You might want think again about using it around the house. You need to check and see if there are laws about discharging a firearm within the city limits. Here in Phoenix it is against the law to even shoot a pellet gun in your back yard. The police here will tell you to knock it off for a pellet gun but will arrest you for the firearm.

I have use about a brick (50rds) of Super Colibri over the years and would have to say that I would not use them on squirrels. I have and old Winchester Model 67 with a 27.5inch barrel on it. Out of that long barrel you can distinctly here the firing pin hit the cartridge and then the bullet leave the barrel. I have shot piles of chipmunks (not protected here in Ohio) with that old Win 67 and when I first got some of the Super Colibri I thought they would be great chipmunk medicine. Accuracy drops off quickly and I had several chipmuncks that took more than one hit with Super Colibri to kill. I had never had that problem with the other quite ammunition I use.
My favorite ammuntion for being quiet is CCI CB-Long ammunition. Out of a 22LR rifle they will be just as quiet at the Super Colibri, as the the bullet is still well below super sonic but it will have almost three time the energy of the Super Colibri. With my rifle I also found that the CB-Long was also noticeable more accurate than the Super Colibri. Super Colibri Bullet Weight: 20gr Muzzle Velocity: 500fps Muzzle Energy: 11.1ft-lbs CCI CB-Long Bullet Weight: 29gr Muzzle Velocity: 710fps Muzzle Energy: 32.5ft-lbs Rambling mcb |

+1 for the CCI CB And they work great with a silencer. Hear nothing but the hammer drop and the bullet hit. SPOOKY!

I shoot squirrels all the time with super colibri out of a short barrel scoped .22 bolt action. It's accurate enough for me. At 20/30 feet I get headshots and it's a humane 1 shot kill. There is an infestation of squirrels here. I have 3 dogs outside and keep dog food out in several gallon buckets. The squirrels get more dog food than the dogs..Except they just steal it for later. I had to cut down a tree limb, it turned out to be hollow and had about 60 pounds of dry dog food stored in it.
The Super Colibris are decent enough for me but out of a pistol they are not so quiet. The CCI CBs mentioned are good too but out of my rifle the Colibris are a bit quieter. |

I dunno about you guys, but I've shot these ammo by the bricks for almost 2 years and I can hit targets up to almost 40 yards. Most I've done is 40 yards (range finder), shot a huge rat in my backyard and it died (head shot) with my Cricket 22LR.
On accuracy, its not consistent, althou the label says 500 FPS, from my Cricket, I was getting 602-614 fps on the F1 chrono with about 1" grouping at 10 yards (imagine out further). The head shot I got was a lucky shot, I also compesated for the bullet drop... On quietness, from my Cricket, its like those PoP things that you get during 4th of July and throw them on the ground and makes a crack noise. Its like, throwing 4-5 of those at the same time. Over all, I'd say its a good ammo. I've used it to kill squarrels and pest on avrage distance of 10 yards. You will like the ammo. |

Review of ammo performance
Ok...review time since it came yesterday.
I loaded up one round into my Marlin model 60 and took aim at a 20oz. Dr. Pepper bottle about 5 yards out (if that...). I pulled the trigger and was super surprised at exactly how quiet the round was (was not much louder than a dry-fire). BUT.......the round bounced right off the 20oz. bottle and landed on my deck (was recovered in tact). I tried this several times, shooting at a piece of wood, an empty pop bottle all with the same results. Needless to say i am not happy with the performance. Two thumbs waaay down.
