.308 Marlin Express
The .308 Marlin Express by Hornady. Will it last or will it flop in time?

Meh, I think itll flop. The lever action was never designed to be a long range rifle, so stuffing such a cartridge in it seems odd to me. If I were in your shoes, I'd go with the .30-30.
