Hello from Canada
I think a section on reloading is a great idea. I've been reloading for a long time. But there's always something new to learn on the subject, I dont know every thing on reloading, but if I can help, it would be my pleasure. |

I say keep it where it is. What are you reloading? Ammo!, that's where it belongs. I just wish Pat would jump in and post a chart to really get Cartmann fired up.
How about a forum just for charts? Or people with dolls in their avatars You guys crack me up........it's better than a soap opera.

Reloading Forum
I spent a long time researching whether or not I want or should reload. After this research I was able to make a determination that it does not make sense to reload 9mm but .45 does make sense.
Then i started researching the specific equipment to purchase. Let me say that this was a bit difficult to do. I was able to, after a lot of reading figure out I wanted a progressive press. With this knowledge I was able to shop for a press that would meet my needs. The press is Dillon Precision's RL 550B reloading press. After all my research I stumbled up some videos on youtube that condense all this information down to 9 videos. YouTube - PorterhouseV's Channel If you watch those 9 videos and you don't understand what you need or want then I would be surprised. It would have been nice to have seen at least a sticky that breaks reloading down as well as these videos or at least a link to them. A dedicated forum for reloading XD45 would be very nice to be able to fine tune loads and share specific experiences with other XD users that reload. With all the record applications for CCW across the country and this never ending war; I was in Part I: Welcome to Baghdad; ammo prices are only going to go up. Don't forget China's demand for metals and looks like N Korea may start too as well. Seems they are following Libya's example and are playing ball with the U.S. My XD-45 is my favorite and funnest gun to shoot by myself and much money goes into it. I would really like to learn about everyones experience with reloading for this caliber and weapon. I also would have liked to have known about those videos before all my research. I think it would have framed my initial knowledge much better. This is why I am in favor of a reloading forum. I also have a Kel-Tec PF-9 (waiting on a assembly pin. Don't know if I trust this gun's design now for SD.), and a Walther P22 (it's a fun little plinker, especially when you dump a mag in less then a second. People are like, "what was that!".) Am I ?

A reloading section would be nice so I don't have to sift through all the weekly Walmart Sucks and What Is The Best Defense Ammo posts.
If anything it may help streamline the Ammo section so all us reloaders don't post there. |

If it was an either 9mm or 45 I could understand but if you already invest in a 550 for 45 then all you need for 9mm is a conversion kit, dies, and toolhead. You also need the raw materials but that actually tanslates into loaded rounds. You can always find used Dillon 550 stuff if you look around. |
