Which one would be my best option?
AIM 7.62x54R 7.62x54R I don't know what the difference is between the heavy ball yellow tip and the lead core light ball. If anyone knows of a site with a better deal I would certainly appreciate it!

The heavy ball is around 175gr bullet and light ball around 145gr, more info on surplus here: 7.62x54r Ammunition Evaluations

IIRC the heavier bullet was meant for the Soviet Machine guns of WWII.

I agree buy both or "borrow" a couple rounds of each from someone that has some(if you know anyone) to see what the gun likes
I have a m44 that doesn't like to shoot anything but the heavy ball, and a 91/30 that loves light ball.
