I wouldn't want to be a cop or a soldier these days. To easy to get stabbed in the back by your own people.

One time I shot a semi with a .40 and it stopped in it's tracks. End of story, .40 can stop semis.

TO STOP A VEHICLE: use a .50 cal auto machime gun, 1000 rounds and extra barrel. That gets everything... car, engine, driver, seatbelts.....

Tell me about it! Our Use of Force Policy states that we may use "an amount of force that an objective, trained and competent individual would percieve likely to stop the threat....." and that "the department will back you as long as the force used meets that requirment".

Now, while they will back you in the CRIMINAL trial, they will NOT provide an attorney in the CIVIL trial. A friend of mine was in civil litigation for 6 YEARS before finally being cleared.

THAT is why ALL COPS not just new cops are hesitant to shoot. The scum-bags and their families have more rights than we do thanks to left wing sympathizers.

I disagree

You can stop a car with a .40. all you have to do it shoot it with an at4 or an RPG first then fire one shot in the fireball. works every time

So what would it take to stop a car? A Cannon firing a 200 pound CannonBall at 300FPS? Just curious, I saw somebody actually did calculations on this and wondered what would it actually take realistically to completely stop a car?

I know nothing you or I could fire on our own would be able to actually sotp a car, but what if we had a few extra hands? Then would it be possible?

Just Curious!

So, would that be ++++++++++P+++++++++++ ammo?

Balancing the momentum equation (not accounting for friction and assuming a square, non-penetrating impact), your 200 pound cannonball traveling 300 fps should stop a 4000 pound car going 10.227 mph.

There's an old gravel pit-turned-into-dump-now-closed-down that I used to shoot in. I tried shooting a couple of Honda(car) engines w/my 40.
I couldn't even put a heavy ding in the aluminum block!!
Now the oil pan and valve cover didn't do too well.
So if you laid down and shot the oil pan and driver's butt as he went over you........
