Opinions of Pow'R Ball ammo .45acp
Hello All,
Whats your thoughts of Pow'R Ball ammo for the XD Good, Bad, whats better. How does it feed etc. etc. Peace Talon

Lightweight + high-velocity + poor sectional density= mediocre penetrating ability
Any 230gr premium JHP would be a better cheaper choice 230gr Winchester Ranger T, Remington Golden Saber, Federal HST, etc... A 50 round box of those runs the same price as a 20 round box of Power Ball

Big advantage of Pow'R Ball ammo is that it eliminates any feed issues and is not effected by clothing. That being said there are issues with the separation of the core from the jacket which may or may not have an impact on stopping power see The Gun Zone -- CorBon .45 Powrball . Because of tis issue I would not use Pow'R Ball in anything smaller that a 45ACP. In my situation I am concerned about over penetration especially with less than perfect shots. Another very good round that feeds well and is not effected by clothing is the Federal EFMJ.
