Lee Powder Dippers
Has anyone used these. I am just getting started reloading and got my 1st set of dies (.223). The set came with a powder dipper (1.6). My question is this: Does one scoop = one powder charge for a cartridge? Thanks for any help you can give.

Nope you have to look up the powder type and the grain charge you will get from the dipper.
The charge depends on the powder brand and type and you have too look up the charge for the powder and bullet weight. My advice is read a good reloading manual and once you have the basics down you can use the dipper. Use it only when loading low to medium pressure loads for the powder you have and always weigh the "dipped" charge and least once and preferably every 5 or 6 load until you are sure you are "dipping" a consistent weight.

Buy an inexpensive reloading beam scale and add a powder measure if you don't want to weigh each charge. Cool looking as they may be, I'd never consider using one! You are looking for accurate loads, right?

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, READ A MANUAL! You still need a scale to calibrate the scoop. The chart is only a ballpark estimate of the charge volumn by wt. Same for powder measures.
