federal 165gr expanding-FMJ,.40 S&W
used a magazine full of these yesterday to ventilate a new burn barrel.
wow ! usually use FMJ's or hardcast reloads thru a .44.just get caliber-size holes right thru both sides.but these things left 1-2" holes.most went thru both sides, some didn't if too much of an angle.jackets sheared off as it passed thru first layer of heavy steel drum.sometimes jacket found on ground outside, some inside.lead found inside if it didn't pass thru.white rubber plugs seen, found bouncing aroung on the groung on the other side of barrel.may keep a mag full in the truck, in case it becomes necessary to shoot into/thru a vehicle.anyone else try these ? or see test results somewhere ? steve

ammolab.com and Warrior Talk Forum http://www.warriortalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30 has plenty of comments on the efmj load. It's very speed dependent for proper expansion. Do a search on the Warrior Talk forum. The resident expert is a ballistics expert that runs ammolab.com.

thank you.will check out.am awarethat for purely anti-personnel use that there are better bonded-core or similar type HP's on the market.like gold dots myself.but interested in them for use against a vehicle,or for their original use, which was liability issues. steve
