i haven't bought .223 from wally world yet, but i was there this weekend and saw them for $8.53 for a box of 20. so that would be about $8.87 out the door.

dicks sporting good has the same price for remingtons .223 and for the wolf .223 it was $7.19

Anybody have any experience with
Prvi Partizan

They have a decent price on Ammotogo. About $100bux less than the remington UMC we are talking about and are 62gr instead of 55

.223 is great for practice but I prefer 5.56mm for defense. The two best loadings in 5.56mm loaded to Mil-Spec pressures are Federal (Lake City) XM193 and Winchester Q3131 & Q3131A. This stuff will cost a couple more bucks per 20 but its what you want if you have to shoot something besides paper and tin cans.

Finding this stuff can be somewhat problematic and it been hard sometimes over the past year but there seems to be some in the pipeline now. For practice, good quality .223 for $8-9 a box seems to be the norm......The Wolf not withstanding.

I bought 2000 prvi partizan but I havent shot it yet. I bought from wideners for 688 shipped for 2000 rounds. Ammo to go is nice but since its in texas they charge me tax too. Supposedly its the best cheap brass cased 5.56 without going nuts spending $450/1000 on black hills and federal. AR15.com has good reviews on it, hard to beat it or the price.

Be warned Privi partizan is increasing prices by 15% in june. The main reason why I bought the 2000 rounds.

As posted earlier in this thread, I split a 1000 rounds of PRVI PARTIZAN 5.56 with an officemate. I've shot 20 rounds of it and it did what I expected.

The two that said you purchased the Prvi Partizan

Did you get the
5.56 Prvi Partizan 55gr. M-193 FMJ Ammo
Ammunition To Go : 1000rds - 5.56 Prvi Partizan 55gr. M-193 FMJ Ammo - $319.95

Or the

.223 Prvi Partizan 62gr. FMJ Ammo
Ammunition To Go : 1000rds - .223 Prvi Partizan 62gr. FMJ Ammo - $324.95

And what rifle are you shooting it in ie. Barrle lenght and twist?

When my AR is together and shooting it will be a 16" Midlength 1/7 twist.
So in theory a 62gr bullet would be more stable and accurate.
But its a .223 round.
Where there lighter 55gr round is a 5.56 so im sure it will be alot quicker.
Price not much differance.

What would you suggest? And what one do you have as previously asked?

Like I said, this will be my first AR. Just planning ahead

I got this: Widener's Reloading and Shooting Supply INC

My AR barrel is a 1x9. The differences between a 1x9 and a 1x7, or a .223 and a 5.56, or a 55 gr and a 65 gr are nothing that I can see shooting at an indoor gun range. The fun factor is there for any of the above combinations and that's all that matters to me. I don't wear a uniform nor do I use my AR at work.

+1 on Q3131 (A) I've got a few cases of it. Check out Sports Authority they sell it and watch the ads you can get it for about $7 a box when it goes on sell. I was buying all they had until it went to $9.99 a box.
