Anybody here shoot 185 or 200 grain bullets out of their service or tactical in 45 cal and if so any problems with recycling?

I'll be trying these out:

200 grain Lead SWC
Winchester case
Winchester LP primer
5.2 grains of Win-231
1.20" coal

.45 ACP:
185 grain bullet
5.8 grains of Bullseye

As suggested on my other gun forum and my load book looks good to go on these recipes to include JHP.

Good luck w/ the 200grLSWC in your Tac, mine only feeds them about 80% of the time & each FTF dings the rear of the mag until it no longer drops free. As to your loads, they should function a std. sprung Tac. I have used 5.6gr of W231 under a 200grLTC for about 835fps. The slide should still cycle (not recycle) down to 700fps or so. Your BE load should also work, but I would just use the W231.

I had absolutely no problem with 185 SWC Winchester WB through my 45 Tac forever. Then the Match Barrel, tighter chamber, and it doesn't like it. But from what I hear I was lucky. Most people have problems from what I have heard. I even used the 14# wolff spring in it with the 185. It ran perrrfect.

I run 185 Berry's RN over 4.8 grns of Titegroup out of my service with no problems at all. I have never had any luck getting my XD45 to feed any type of SWC reliably and finally just gave up.

I don't know about you, but my school doesn't allow us to recycle lead
