Not sure where Lafeyette is in relation to Cincinnati but...IKEA here in cincinnati sells some decent wood block counter material for fairly cheap.

Hmm... It is actually only abotu 2 hours from my parents' house. I think the lady friend and I are planning on making a trip there to see her sister here in a week or two. That might just be a possibility. Thanks. I'll be sure to post pictures of my new shop in this thread when it is done.

Here's mine. Built a small counter-height table & squeezed it into a small closet in my office. It's not much, it works!
