Not to bust your balls, but there are literally tons of discussion in the Ammo Can section on which round to use for home/self defense. I mean TONS of info there along with some actual "home tests" of various ammo. I personally posted three or four tests (non-scientific) myself that include the Federal HST Tactical 230gr JHP, Federal Personal Defense 230gr JHP and Hornady XTP 230gr JHP .

Dont get caught up in "stopping pwer". No bullet provides immediate stopping power unless it destroys the central nervous system, i.e., the spinal cord. What you want in a self defense JHP round is one that;
- feeds reliably in YOUR gun
- goes bang each and every time
- has enough penetration value to reach vital organs
- enough expansion not to over penetrate
- good shot placement on your part

Try this link. It should bring up the page I did for a search. It has a lot of topics on SD ammo. Click Here
