Advice on a defense round for the xd tactical 9mm

Not so much interested in what you think is the best but what you know will work well in the gun.

Anythign will probably work, you'll have to shoot at least one full mag, each mag through & see if you have any problems.

I have never had a failure of any kind with any flavor Speer Gold Dot (115, 124, 247) in any XD 9 (SC, Service, Tactical). BUT, every gun is different. Don't trust a post on the internet, you will have to true a true test with your rounds and your gun.

Thanks guys that helps a lot. It is just to expensive nowdays to just keep buying something until it works. Especially with some of this dollar a round ammo.

check below to ease the cost of some SD rounds. I also got a deal (shocking) at a gun show for SD rounds at $20/box of 50 recently.

Speer Gold Dots seem to be the absolutely most reliable as far as feeding goes. If they feed every time they will work every time.

+1 on the Winchester Ranger SXT, but the Speer Gold Dots are my second choice. Had a lot of FTF problems with Remington Golden Sabers.
