Harbor Freight is the Wal*Mart of tools and hardware and for the same reason -- they buy mostly Chinese made goods with the emphasis on Chinese made and not on good!

I've had tools fall apart the very first time I used them.

Now, if the 3 and 5 pound tumblers are any good it would be tempting but I am very dubious of the quality of anything they sell. As was mentioned before, if you only intend limited use they're probably OK, but if you wish to be using them 20 years from now or just use them a lot now then you'd better look elsewhere.

Brian

I ran my Harbor Freight tumbler and the RCBS tumbler for about 12 hours straight this past weekend. Here is my take on both: The HF tumbler is much better quality than the RCBS one. Both hold about the same, fairly quiet, and clean equally well, but the RCBS is clearly the inferior one as it is:
1) not as sturdy. very light and seems to have been put together cheaply. one accidental kick will probably knock over the RCBS unit while the heavier HF unit will stay put with that same kick.
2) plastic on RCBS unit is cheap, seems to be brittle and not as nice as the plastic on the HF one.
3) No rubber gasket on the lid or top washer of the RCBS unit, while the HF has both. you have to really tighten down the nut of the RCBS unit to keep the dust from flying.
4) No on/off switch on the RCBS unit.
5) top bolt is not cut down to size on the RCBS unit.

It is obvious both are made in China, my money would be on the better built one.

I've been keeping an eye on one these cases. They are just like Pelican or Storm but half the price. And every now and again Harbor Freight will put them on sale.
