Cost for Primers

How much do other people typically pay for primers? I bought 500 remington large pistol primers from bass pro the other day and paid just under $27, which seemed kind of high. I know I could buy them online but don't want to pay the extra shipping charges.

I bought 1000 small pistol and 1000 small rifle at WalMart last month they were 2.74 per 100. Can't remember the total plus tax right now but it was much less that what you paid per 100.

Local place here sales reloading supplies (Eastern Outfitters for anyone around the J-ville, NC area) and though their prices are higher than internet prices their shop is right up the road and I save by not having to pay hazmat and shipping fees. I just bought a 1000 small pistol primers earlier this week and I paid 34 bucks for'em.

If anyone in the Atlanta area knows of a better place than Bass Pro to get them, please let me know. Looking at gun shows is a good idea, I never thought of buying primers there.
