Reloading newb i need of a little help
Hey I recieved an old single stage press from my grandpa this last weekend. He sad that this would get me started. But the thing is i have no dies and this press is about twie as old as I am. I am a budget shooter and wanna reload 45acp. the thing is I have no idea where is a good place to get dies and what will fit in this press. So if anyone knows anything about old presses or has a 45 acp set of dies they wanna sell let me know. Thanks

What brand press is it? More than likely the maker of the press has dies to fit it. I reload .45acp and use a lee Turret press with lee dies. Post pics if your not sure what you have.

I believe that "standard" die threads are 7/8 x 14. Get a bolt if you have to and check it. Next you have to be sure you can get a shell holder for your caliber. I've seen some real oddball shellholders on very old presses but most use the same as the newer models. The last thing to make sure of before making an investment is the primer seating mech. If there is none, you can hand prime.

Check out the Lee Speed Die in .45ACP. I've used one with both a Lee Challenger and a Rockchucker press. The Speed Die works as advertised. You only set the die body once, then remove and replace parts for the various tasks.
