Brass Casing Question
So I just got a bunch of brass from a guy. I'm going through it taking out the 9mm and .45, I'm picking out the .40 (which is about 99%). But I'm seeing a lot of the .40 rounds as being "Federal NT". The primer looks bit different from the inside and out. I'm just wanting to make sure that I'm not going to be breaking primer punches taking these out.

I believe these cases were manufactured with the lead free primers, possibly crimped and having a large flash hole. I don't think you will have a problem de-capping them but I'm not sure what effect the large hole would have on accuracy but the few I've reloaded in .45 ACP did not seem to be affected. Velocity and pressure may differ from "normal" cases so be careful.

I can definitely see the crimping on the outside. I'm thinking that they aren't going to be very friendly trying to re-primer them. I guess I can try out a few to see what happens.
You think they'll have a negative effect on accuracy?
