I like the way MisterB thinks! Forget the whole re-loading thing, Just buy another gun
MSU33, what were you thinking? The neighbors would all be glad that I did not have any re-loading equip as clumsy as I am. |

I wasn't the one complaining about ammo prices though....
I can make 1k .45acp rounds for less than i can buy 1k 9mm rounds

When I bought my XD9 I had it figured up that by the cost savings of shooting 9mm over .45 ammo, the gun would be paid for in less than a year.

Hornady has extended the free bullet deal for 2008. You get 100 free bullets for purchasing a set of Hornady dies as well.

There is no arguement from me or anyone that shooting 9mm is waaay cheaper than shooting .45....
I'm American, I shoot .45 and drive a V8 with a supercharger

What was I thinking when I started reloading? Along the same lines as Tomfoolery! When I carry, I am carrying a 45 or 40. Why would I want to practice with a completely different gun and calibre than what I carry? Doesnt make good training. Also, I reload .223 for my AR. Dont know if you have priced what it takes to feed an AR, but it aint cheap. I will also reload for my deer rifle. 300wsm are around 50 bucks for 20! I can more than cut that cost in half with reloading. It just makes more sense for me to reload, especially as much as I shoot. The price of 9mm ammo is enticing, but not enough to make me want to buy a 9mm handgun. Never really had the 9mm bug. |

ok 33, you win again.
When I decided to buy a new handgun The 9mm was never an option. I knew I wanted at least a .40. I used to buy & sell cars on the side. Now I think that I need to start buying & selling guns so that I can have my cake & eat it too. Simple math, buy a gun. Shoot it a few times, sell it for a few dollars profit. Use the profit to pay for ammo. Problem solved. Sounds like a fairly inexpensive hobby (compared to cars/trucks). |

The only problem with selling guns is that everyone can find the deal you can (typically). It's a tough market unless your selling to "retail" type buyers.
For example...I know you can sell an XD9 for 450 to the retail crowd...but i know i can find them for 350-375.

$50 for 20 rounds of .50AE drove me to reloading. Now I'm reloading all of my pistol calibers.
