I am pretty sure the stuff that I shoot out of my Mosin Nagant M91/30 has been buried in a farmers field in Bulgaria since the first World War... I think as long as it stays dry it will be fine much longer than you would ever need it. My uncle keeps desiccants in his sealed ammo cans, but maybe that is just him being too cautious?

As long as it stays dry your fine....longer than you will probably live to shoot it.
They are selling WWII era surplus ammo still to this day...

You can assume that the shelf life exceeds 10 years so long as you keep the ammo dry and protected. Different types of ammo have different shelf lives. Some exceed 30 years. But many run in the neighborhood of 15-18 years.
I read comments from Col. James Naughton, former deputy chief of staff for ammunition at the Army Material Command, in National Defense Magazine that generally speaking after 20 years you will lose 7-8% of your munitions due to deterioration.
