Where can you get the supplies to make ballistic gel and how much does it cost? I see the Myth Busters go through tons of the stuff so it can't be real expensive.

What about other materials? Jello is common enough but I don't think it would hold up well enough and would not handle being in the sun for any length of time.

a while ago a friend of mine made some "balistics" gell by using 1 gallon of water, and 1lb of nox gelatin.

mix the gelatin with water, set in fridge for 2 hours, then put in pan and put over medium heat and stir until it has "melted" ( you will notice a difference in texture) then pour into mold and place in fridge over night.

my buddy made a 5x5x12" block out of this mix and it cought m 380 hollow points, but my 40s went threw it, but if it were longer it would catch almost anything...

I would suggest using a couple cups less watter to make it thicker.
