CCI ammo and 45 muzzle flash

I was shooting at an indoor range this past weekend. I was shooting for my CHL qualification. I normally shoot at an outdoor range so I do not notice muzzle flash to often. I had trouble lining up my second shot during the double tap sequence. I normally shoot WWB an Remington. Is the CCI ammo prone to a really bright nuzzle flash or was it just being indoors?

Yes. I also shoot the CCI Blazer Brass .45.....there is more pronounced flash with that particular round. However, keep in mind that a .45 has allot more powder in comparison to, say 9mm. I am no expert at ammo, but I too have encountered the same phenomenon.

Are you shooting a .45 service by chance?

blazer brass is not too bad in my tac but has a brighter flash in my g36 i guess due to the shorter barrel

Yes I am shooting the 45 servce. I have had it for two years now and love it. I was my gift to myself for getting laid off after 7 years. I took my chl class a week ago and plan on carrying it. I sure wish I would have bought the compact instead. I am debating on carrying the 45 or a Sig 9 mil I have.

I shoot CCI mini mags out of my P22, and there is noticeable muzzle flash indoors.

Sounds like you might be a candidate for the grip chop! What did you do in your seven year carrier?

If you are so inclined...Grip chop; a how to...
