Walmarts in az have 9mm wwb boxes of 100 for $18.00 a box. AZ Firearms in Avondale usually has 500 rd cases of umc 9mm for $80.00.

Not all Wal Marts carry ammo and even the ones that do stock very little of it. Cant buy much bulk when its not there. It also depends on the [articular ammo you are buying and in what caliber.

But, if you are willing to do the "buy a couple boxes per week" kinda plan, Wal Mart is the way to go if they have it in your area.

Ammunition to go sells stuff like Hydra-shocks, Gold Dots, and TAP in 50 round boxes for pistols which the only place that sold 50 round boxes of 9mm Gold Dot around here got shut down.

I can get 50 rounds of Gold dot on Ammo to go for the same price as 20 here localy.

I also like to use Sportsman's Guide sometimes even though their prices are usually higher than most other places becuase they have the "4-pay plan" for members that allows you to pay a purchase over 150 dollars out over 4 months with no interest or anything and that works out reall well. I can pick up 1k rounds of x39 and what ever else I feel like getting and pay it out over the 4 months.

the cheepest ammo I could find localy is $16-$18 for a box of 50. on line I could get 1000 rounds for $160+$40S&H so $200 $200%20 boxes of ammo=$10 a box. you just have to look around , but it is a good point, often times S&H does make online ammo more than in the store ammo.

I still am a believer of supporting the small guy though. If I can get my ammo locally without getting bent over, I will go there to buy. I have been buying a lot more from a small shop that opened last year. He has been real good on prices and REALLY good on XD prices!

Dick's Sporting Goods is a large retailer. They have over 300 stores in over 30 states. No anywhere near Wally World size, but hardly a "local gun shop."

I think digitalexplr already corrected your math.

I'm in agreement with you on this. I have yet to find ammo that is cost effective to buy online. After shipping costs I think the best deal I found once would save me thirty cents to wait 2-4weeks instead of just going to wally world.

Actually, it's the cost with 100 round boxes

500 rounds of wwb fmj on website was $170
170/5 = $34 so it could come out to $34 per 100 round box

100 round box of same ammo at Wally = $26.00 to $29.00
5*29= $145.00
