Ammo question:
Okay the new Stag ar that I'm buying is listed as 5.56 nato caliber. What are average prices out there for this stuff? Would I seak out 5.56 or just shoot .223?

1000 rnds of something like privi partizan is around $330 + shipping. Ammo prices are just going to keep going up. I might buy a case of something soon

My new AR is also chambered in 5.56 NATO, but I just bought 5 20-count boxes of Monarch .223 ammo for $8.79 a box at a local Academy.
Couple of questions: 1) Where is the best place to buy 5.56 ammo? 2) Has anyone had problems with the .223 Monarch ammo that I just purchased? Thanks!

I was surfing Cheaper Than Dirt last night and saw that they had some pretty good prices on cheap .223/5.56 ammo.

Why does anyone think they need to have 5.56NATO spec ammo? Do you think the difference is profound enough to require it?

5.56 NATO ammo is really not that accurate, but the thing is they are more guaranteed to go bang and reliably cycle as they have to meet certain fps requirements.
Also NATO brass kicks ass over the others. |
