Why pay $30 for 20?
I'm sure theres a high reliability for Hydras and other name brand defensive rounds that come in those 20 round boxes for about $30... I just bought a 100 round box of Remington 180gr JHP's for $31... They look very mean too. What am I not getting with these that I would be getting with say Hydras or Sabers? Just curious..

The name as far as I can tell.
You can go to Welcome to Ammunition To Go! for 50 round boxes of your prefered ammo for for the same price that most places sell the 20 round boxes.

While I think too many shooter dwell on what is the "best" choice for a HD/SD bullet/ammo, I am not a big fan of the low end stuff. It is often dirty, inconsistent & you'll find more flaws in a 100bx than premium ammo. The premium def. ammo will be put together w/ better components & be more accurate & more reliable. The bullets will often, but not always, perform a a higher level in bal.gel. testing. Bottom line for me, if you can deliver just about any decent JHP into the BG COM, the fight is likely to be over. Still, I have more confidence in ammo that is assembled w/ abit better components & quality control.

i was happy with them
well i guess you can call this a range report of sorts. i went to 3 walmarts looking for JHP and finally the 3rd store had some Remington UMC 115 gr JHP. i couldn't find any reviews of them, so i was worried that they wouldn't expand from my 3" XD sc. so here's my own review on them. first we start with a JHP bullet that is 0.355 in diameter. ![]() ![]() test #1 shooting into 1 gallon bottles of water. (these are windshield washer fluid bottles. so the plastic is a little thicker than milk jugs) in and out of 2 bottles, into 3rd bottle and ALMOST exited the 3rd bottle. measuring across the 6 pedals the measurements are 0.525, 0.533, 0.533 ![]() ![]() ![]() test #2 shooting into 1 gallon bottles of water. (again... these are windshield washer fluid bottles. so the plastic is a little thicker than milk jugs) in and out of 2 bottles, into 3rd bottle and ALMOST exited the 3rd bottle. measuring across the 6 pedals the measurements are... 0.510, 0.510, 0.545. ![]() ![]()
