OK. So I go into Walmart around 10:45 to pick up around 300 rounds for the next day's IDPA match.

Well Walmart tell me that the now "Can not sell ammo between 10pm and 7AM".

I am like WTF get me a manager who first explains that it is a "STATE LAW" that I quickly shoot down. She then tells me that they can't sell it after 10PM because NICS closes at 10PM which I tell her is BS because you don't call in ammo purchases.

So I tell her that I have bought ammo at night MANY times and that she is full of it. So she finally just says "well that is WALMART policy". I tell her she has an upset customer who is not buying anything from this store.

So again, as it has been said many times, Screw WALMART.

They said the same exact thing at the Walmart by me. However they then said "well really, that just means we don't have anyone at the register back here...just find someone to get the ammo for you and bring it to the front registers".

I bought 500 rounds of 9mm, 50 rounds of 38SPL and 100 rounds of .22mag at 11:30 at night ( did get weird looks though)...they say people come in at 1 or 2 am getting ammo all the time. Some places are dumb I guess.

I hate going to Wal-Mart as much as the next person, but I can't seem to not shop there every once in awhile.

Im going to be back directly at 7am and be open carrying and say "see, I have ammo and no one died"

meh... I just go during the day. No sense in fighting with a minimum wage person who was given a small set of rules. This person isn't paid enough to remember every single law out there. It's like slow people in the left lane. Just go around them.

I have purchased ammo at all hours at our local Walmart with no problems. It must be a policy unique to your store.

You can't have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. The minimum wage worker at Walmart is only doing what he is told by management.
