+1 on that. 16+1 of it and another 16 on the belt.

Winchester Ranger T and Ranger SXT in 9mm, .40 and .45. Speer Gold Dot in .357sig and Hydrashocks in .38spl.

More Winchester Ranger in 12ga reduced recoil 00Buckshot and Slugs.

That about sums up my HD ammo choices. My go to's though are my .45 and my 12ga, in that order. I grab my handgun so that I can fight to get to my shotgun if I need to.

Hydra shoks are an outdated round and do not expand well in clothing. Federal makes a much better round: HST. I'd stay away from Hydra shok unless you plan on carrying at a nudist colony.

+1
Retired is correct. HST is a better choice. Many tests bear this out.

Also, some of his claims are simply not true. For example, Detroit PD does not use JHP's. They use Expanding Full Metal Jackets. So take this particular article with a grain of salt.

His main claim though is really quite true. I would much rather hit a BG with something that fires 100% of the time than an FTF. That is one reason why I include EJMJ's in my mix for my 45.

Another round he fails to mention is Corbon DPX. The Barnes solid copper X bullet is a terrific innovation. Rounds using this bullet feed reliably. It penetrates very deeply and expands with extremely high reliability. It penetrates laminated auto glass well. It goes through other barriers with expansion. It has outstanding performance on FBI Protocol tests in all calibers. I now have it in my .380 and .357 magnum guns. I will also put it into my AR-15 as soon as I can find some. It sells out fast.

I love this round! I got it for .45acp. Feeds like a champ, the only problem is it bent the back of my 13rd mag lip to the point it doesn't drop free Gonna test it some more with other mags to figure out wtf :B
