Plated 125 grain 9mm bullets

Anyone using anything other than Berry's 125 grain plated bullets for 9mm? I'm looking to find if there are better deals than the $80/1000 delivered that Berry's charges! Of course quality has to be there. Thanks.

I used rainier but I think they are a bit more expensive.

I've used 124 grn. Xtreme plated bullets IIRC they are a little cheaper but folks report bad accuracy with them. I also noticed this out of the ones I have. They seem to not hold a group out of the SC.

Midway USA has some decent prices on 1k pcs of Winchester FMJs. I was going to get that probably will next time.

These guys are alittle cheaper bought in bulk, shipping included, and they are jacketed, not plated.

Montana Golds are some of the most accurate bulk bullets you'll ever buy. But man, the prices have skyrocketed lately!

What is a complete metal jacket as opposed to a full metal jacket? Any thoughts as to which is more accurate, the CMJ, FMJ, or JHP's in the Montana's? My bullet of choice for the .45 ACP has always been a SWCHP.

TJ Conevera has surplus 115 FMJ 9mm for $78/1000 shipped. Also has Berry's plated for the same price. Stand up businessman, quick shipping, great to do business with:

9mm 115gr Full Metal Jacket Hollow Base 1000 count
Berrys Bullets

FMJ is kinda decieving in the fact that on a FMJ bullet the jacket covers everything BUT the base leaving some lead exposed. TMJ or Plated bullets have a jacket or plating covering the entire lead core leaving none exposed.

Neither is really any better than the other though you will experience less lead exposure on a TMJ or Plated as compared to a FMJ bullet, both during reloading and firing.

Edit-some indoor ranges also mandate the use of TMJs or Plated bullets to reduce the exposure of lead to shooters.

The CMJ is like Sper's TMJ, completely enclosed base. It really doesn;t affect accuracy.

The Montana Bullets seem like the best combination of cost/quality. I would rather shoot jacketed than plated anyway and just assumed that the cost of plated would be cheaper!
