Not buying WOLF again.
I've had my XD SC .40 for a week and a day now and have already tried a lot of diffent ammo through it and have had zero FTF or jams after about 500 rounds so far. Winchester white box FMJ and JHP, Remington UMC, Winchester Ranger, and Hornady TAP (which is my SD ammo in 180gr.). I ordered some stuff from CTD.com and figured I'd get a couple boxes of Wolf to see what the hubbub is all about and see if it was a good deal.
I was surprised at the color of it due to the steel and being used to brass. I loaded up the mags and hit the range with it today. It fired flawlessly and was accurate. There was some flash and sparking, but no biggie. I loaded some more mags and kept shooting it. I noticed a LOT of grey was rubbing off on my fingers from loading the Wolf ammo into the mags. No biggie. I saved a couple bucks. So after 200 rounds of Wolf, I was pretty satisfied with it.......until I took my XD apart to clean it. There were tiny bits of red flakes and metal shavings all inside the slide! I had no clue what was going on until I realized it was from the red primers on the Wolf ammo. These bits of red were EVERYWHERE. In the grooves of the slide, down the mag hole, in the mechanisms of the gun. What a pain. I'm going to stick with the WWB and Remington UMC for the range. My local shop carries 100 rounds of UMC for $25, so I only save a couple dollars using the Wolf. Has anyone else had this problem with the Wolf ammo, or did I get a bad batch? Oh, by the way I added a Pearce extension this week, and love it.

i noticed that red crap in my tantal, it doesnt stop me from buying it. i really dont care about some red crap in my pistol/rifle as long as it fires.
if you dont like cleaning it up i would stay away from it, 40s&w is pretty expensive at walmart . my wife bought me a box for easter being nice. (i didnt have the heart to tell her i dont have a 40s&w pistol though LOL)

Used to shoot it out of a PT-145 and a RIA 1911 and yes it did the same thing. It's good ammo and cheep, if you want something not as dirty though buy some blueline Mag Tech ammo pretty decent shooting ammo thats usually cheeper than most brands.

WOLF FMJ will splinter easy as well so be careful what you are shooting.... trust me I know because I took a splinter inside my forearm.

Eh if you don't like it send it to me and I'll shoot the **** out of it. Lots of people hate it if you do don't shoot it.
The red stuff is primer sealant. You would get that out of any NATO ammo also.
