Federal HST's???

I can't believe this, but the search tool came up with ZERO hits for the HST. I know that's not right, but I'm starting my own post anyhow. Anybody have an experience with the HST's in their XD45? I have the 4" model, and I was considering the 230gr or 230gr +P.

You have to use more than 3 letters in the search. Try Federal HST.

Here is one link that I found

Ok...I feel stupid. I should have known better than that.

Black, have you ever used them? Thoughts?

Ive had the 230gr hst's but not the +p. They shoot fine. no problems at all. the way they look when expanded looks so nasty I had to get them. My only problem is that I moved from FL to NJ and hollow points are basically illegal so now I use Federal Expanding Full Metal Jackets.

Good round AFAIC.

I also use +p HST's in my .45 Service. Have had three fail to feed using them. I have ordered a couple hundred rounds of HST in regular load (not +p) so I can check how they run.

I also polished my feed ramp some more and bought two new magazines. Hopefully, I will be able to determine what is the feed problem soon. If its the wide mouth of the hollow points I will have to stop using them if they continue to feed improperly.

I have the HST's for my 1911. Do you really feel that +P is necessary with .45?

Maybe I'm not a good internet searcher but does anyone have a link to some ballistic data on these rounds? fps, muzzle energy, expansion?

I just ordered a box and will see how they fire.
