Best place to purchase .45acp for range?

The Wal-Marts around Atlanta apparently don't sell ammunition (or even cleaning supplies - scary.) I'm trying to find a good place to buy ammunition, bulk or otherwise - looking for lowest cost per round.

The only place I'm aware of is Georgia Arms, but I've heard some stories recently about kabooms related to some of their reloads, as well as having seen some steel cases mixed in with the brass. I'd hate to buy 1000rds and have an issue with it.

I'm open to ordering from the net, although I would prefer something local in GA if the price is right. If not, link away!

Cheers,
David

you could drive up here to communist MD and pick some up from our Wally World. As of last night they are still 29.99 for a box of 100 WWB.

Grr. I don't understand why Wal-Mart is slowly stopping to carry rifles/pistols/ammunition/etc. I called some stores in the region, and they all say no Wal-Mart inside the perimeter of Atlanta sells any of that, and even outside it's spotty. Apparently I'll have to make a 60+ mile drive to find one that's still selling ammo. :/

Thanks for the advice,
David

wal-mart only carries ammo in certain stores. if they dont sell a certain amount they stop carrying it. My local walmart here in Myrtle Beach, SC carries ammo but not firearms. when i went to visit my old stomping grounds in noVA (Northern Virginia) last month, not only did the local walmart sell ammo they still carried rifles and shotguns. i then went to a walmart 15 miles away (larger populated area) and they only sold ammo. I bought my Remington 870 from a walmart in VA about 6 years ago. Thanks to a**holes like Michael Moore , ammos becoming harder to find in the large retail stores. Check out the Bass Pro Shop and The Sportsmans Guide online.

I asked the Castle Rock, Colorado store about that. The employee was not really aware but he thought it was based on sales. Castle Rock has th 4th highest gun dept. sales in Wal*Mart according to him.
