I spoke to the local officer that works at our airport about rounds they carry for their 9mm Glock. He said they only use Speer Gold Dot. I said I have Remington Saber for home defense. He said they tried those but had some problems with them, he wasn't sure what it was.
Think this is true? What might the problem be ? I don't plan on firing alot of this ammo (Saber), as I use Winchester (white box) from Wal Mart (target practice), but I sure don't want a misfire or jam or misfeed if it is a real defense situation. Should I just shoot up my Sabers and look for Speers ? Thank you.

I have had problems with Remington Saber in 40S&W. Occasionally loading my XD the bullet would set back in the case causing a jam and creating an unsafe cartridge by setting the bullet back against the powder charge.

I would think if he didn't know the specific problem, he is just going on heresay. Remember, the average LEO is NOT a gun person & knows little about his weapon or the ammo. They just carry what they are told to. The GS is a good round. many LEA like bonded rounds for penetration thru auto glass. RemGS does come in a bonded round but for CCW or HD, the std RemGS is a pretty good round in any caliber. If it feeds 100% in your pistol & is accurate, I would not be worrying about it.

Use name brand defensive ammo that feeds well in YOUR gun. Problem solved.

I couldn't be happier with Speer Gold Dots in my XD-9 Service and Sub Compact.

+1 I have about 300 rounds of Golden Saber through my XD45 service with no issues; whichever round you decide on, be sure to try a fair amount to see how your gun likes it.

I like the Speer GoldDots...they looked the best and expanded the best when fired through actual flesh.
