its just the same as the black talon without the black coating and it is only available to LEO not that isnt a law its just winchester policy. so it is pretty hard to get a hold of. its a good deal considering that a box is 50 rounds

I have 50k on back order from Winchester. Price should be 26.95 when it arrives.

I just wanted to share this info w/ all of you guys.
To answer someone's question, yes lately it seems that this Winchester Ranger round is hard to get a hold of considering a lot of sites have this round on back order. And some sites can't even get there hands on the stuff. Obviously theres a good reason for that... I've done plenty of research on JHP defense carry rounds and I know there more then a few good manufacturers to choose from however, I know for a fact that these do a great job at incapacitating the bad guy. Again this was just FYI to help anyone who was looking for this particular round. If you have no interest no big deal. But this is definitely one of the best LEO/Defense rounds on the market if you so choose to carry it. |

I found 50 rnd. boxes in .40 at a gun show today for $20. I figured, what the heck and bought a box. Didnt see any other calibers.

this is the new political correct black talon ammo, when fired all women, children and babies die in the vicinity of the shooting, plus its the only hollow point on the market that will penatrate a level 1-6 bullet proof vest and armor plate.

This stuff has always been abundant at amunitiontogo.com
Nothing magical about it though. It's effective for a JHP, but it's nothing that much more superior to the other top 5 defensive JHP's: CorBon Speer Gold Dot Hornady Tap Federal HST Remington Golden Sabre Penetration, expansion, and temporary wound cavity (the most important issues for a deadly JHP) are all similar with any of the above brands. I would not say Talons are worth any extra money. The smart thing to do would be to buy the most economical of the above mentioned JHP's so you could actually affort to test fire many of the rounds in your defensive handguns to make sure it's reliable and accurate. Any of the above will get the job done, but a reliability/accuracy test fire is most important of all. If it won't cycle, it isn't worth any amount of money you've spent on it. Just because you paid a lot, doens't mean it will cycle in your handgun. Anyone who carries a 1911 will attest to that If it floats your boat and you can afford it, more power to you, it's a fine round for self defense, but it ain't a magic bullet

I've seen the bonded version (RA45B) on there site, but not the RA45T. I have 200 rounds of RA45T on the way myself.
