Which free Hornady bullets to get? (reselling afterwards)

I bought a Hornady LNL progressive and some 9mm and 40 S&W dies. Per Hornady's warranty I am eligible to get 1,200 bullets from the list at the bottom of the link below. I am not really interested in making my own defensive HP rounds. I just want to make some relatively inexpensive practice rounds since ammo prices have gotten so ridiculous. I've decided the best thing to do would be to sell the rebate rounds.
Does anyone have any suggestions which bullets would be my best bet when considering ease of sale? Also, is there any place other than gunbroker that would be a good place to offer these on the internet? The MSRP on the likely candidates ranges from $21/100 for 9mm to $30/100 for 44 cal. Also the 30 cal .308 rifle rounds for about $30/100 seems like a good consideration.
I don't expect to get prices that good for the bullets but what do you guys think is reasonable?
I might try to sell locally but I'm guessing I can get more $$ if I am willing to do the internet thing. I think I can get these in a flat rate box so shipping shouldn't be too bad for once.

Thanks,
X

Most people who reload handgun rounds are reloading .45 since they're usually more expensive than say 9mm. (that's the reason I bought a reloading press, .45 is getting far too expensive)

You shouldn't have any problems unloading .45 bullets to any reloader. Since it's just bullets, you can ship via USPS and save some shipping fees. Flat Rate USPS Boxes will ship as much weight as you can cram in the box for like $8.95

Depending on what you're going to sell the 45 bullets for I'll be happy to buy them. PM me with a price or we can negotiate.

Use the free bullets to duplicate your carry ammo for practice.

The MSRP on Hornady's site are 30%+ more than what you can get them for almost everywhere else. Still "free" bullets are "free" bullets (all you have to do is buy a press and pay overpriced shipping ), so whichever you choose should bring back a little bit of a return.

I agreewith the others that 2 good choices as far as being able to get rid of would be: 1st the .45 ACP and 2nd the .40/10mm. Another good choice would be the .30 cal since it can be used in alot of different chamberings (.308, .30-06, .300 WinMag, etc) so it also would go quick.

One I would suggest against is the .22 cal (.224). Even though it is an SPJBT rather than an FMJBT, you still wouldn't see near the return on it as you would the other 3 calibers. Most (not all) of the people I know who are reloading for their AR's are using the FMJBT (which are $70.00 per 1,000 shipped from Wideners) rather than the SPJBT ($83.00 per 1,000 + shipping). Once you figured in your shipping, you either wouldn't make very much or they would be so overpriced, people wouldn't buy.

But that's just my opinion and it is-

my opinion<$00.02

so take it for what it's worth.

I had ordered the 9mm but I can use it, I did get 100 .224 but I really dont like SP bullets, the 2 top ones to sale would probably the the 45 or 30 cal. I had got another die set so I gan get 100 more, Im probably going to get the 30 cal since i can get 30-06 brass from my brother in law and i have varget powder here that will work in there. I just need large rifle primers to do them.

I'd say get some 230 gr. .45 XTP HP's and .45 FMJ/FMC's and sell em to us! I can always use more .45 bullets. Hell, I'm not even picky about the weight.

No one is going to give you MSRP for bullets they can buy many places for just over wholesale. I don't know why you wouldn't want to handload the XTP in any caliber, great bullet, very accurate. For trade purposes, I would get the 230grXTP & see if somone will trade you something like 1500 9mmFMJ?

Thanks for the input guys. I guess the .45's seem to be the way to go. I know this isn't the for sale section and I haven't even sent off for the bullets yet. I don't know how long it will take to get them. Since some of you expressed an interest I'll throw a price out there and see if anyone cares to go for it. A coworker expressed an interest in a box of .44 so that leaves 11 boxes of 100. Midway sells these same bullets for $20/box. 25% off of that is $15/box. So how does $165 for the 11 plus $10 shipping sound? Obviously I'd prefer to sell these all at once so anyone interested in most or all of them will get priority. Also, if I break this up the $10 for shipping will still apply as that is probably what it will cost me, nothing I can do about that. If I don't get any serious interest I will put these in the F/S section when they arrive.

MidwayUSA - Hornady XTP Bullets 45 Caliber (451 Diameter) 230 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 100

Thanks,
X
