Question Reloading Information

With the high prices of ammo, I was considering about getting in to reloading. I'm a newbe to this and was wondering if any of my fellow XDers had some suggestions, feedback, and advice on this subject.

THANKS

Quite a few threads in the "Ammo" section The Ammo Can - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

Best thing to do is buy a manual and read it cover to cover a couple times before buying anything else. That will give you an idea what you're looking for.

Try, "The ABC's of Reloading". It is an excellent source of information for the beginner and experienced alike

Hey GURR! You should go and read everything you can get your hands on! That said.....My favorite load for the .45ACP Service (4") is 5.4 grains of Green Dot in Winchester fired brass with CCI large pistol primers topped with either Gold Dot or Hornady XTP 230 grain HPs.

How does the Green Dot compare to Winchester 231 powder?

im considering it too, just not sure if how long it will take for the equipment to pay for itself, Ive done it before on someone elses equipment and it was pretty easy, thinking about getting one of the Lees kits with everything included

It will never pay off because you will shoot more for the same price you were use to paying.

Kempf Gun Shop for a cheap good set up that will get you cranking out rounds.

Never tried Win 231 but according to the "burn rate" chart that I have, it is on the fast end - rated at #11, Green Dot is #15.
