For 147 PFN out of my XD9 4" I was using 3.4 grains of TG and getting about 886 fps with an OAL of about 1.1".

It stands for eXtreme Terminal Performance. Hornady makes them. They are a JHP. Expansion is somewhat slower than other hollowpoints supposedly striking a better balance between penetration and expansion. In short, they penetrate more and dump their energy over a longer path.
