Federal HST .45 ACP and 9 MM Ammo

Just read an article on this ammo in either Handguns or Guns & Ammo (can't remember which!). Tge expansion looked outstanding (forms a perfect 'star' each shot), with 100% retention in the gel! Only problem was restricted distribution as it's only available to LE department purchase and my department is still on the S&W 40 bandwagon (not that I have a problem with that round - it's one of my favorites).

Found this site, which is selling it in .45 ACP and 9mm (pricy at $23 and change for 50 rounds of .45, but WTH - it's only money).

https://ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/index.php

If you're in the market for it, here's a chance to get your hands on some of it.

Just passing on the info

I bought a few boxes of HST from there last month. They are a good company to deal with.

HST is going up in a few months. I think they are trying to catch up with Ranger prices.

I've got 200 rounds of 9mm 147gr Hydra Shoks arriving in the morning from ATG. The local stores want to sell me 20 rounds of 124gr HS for $17.50.

From ATG I believe the price was $19.95 for 50 rounds.

ATG is a good place. I have used them a few times. I have also bought HSTs from Streichers Police Equipment - Call 800-367-3763 Today!. I have not compared prices recently, but you may want to give them a try too.

You may also want to check Winnie Ranger bonded. I has 100% weight retention through sheetrock, plywood, and 20 gauge steel.

It pays to shop around. ATG or Streichers can very by as much as 5.00 per box with my prices. Some things they are cheaper others I'm cheaper.

What ammo for SHTF and carry do you guys recommend for the following:

Keltec PF9 3"
XD9 4"
SA TRP 45
Bushie 16" Carbine

So many choices so little money.

I currently have Speer short Barrel +9 124s in my Keltec, older 147 Hydra Shok in the XD, 230 +p Hydra Shok in the TRP, and 60 grain TAP FPD in the AR mags.

I definately want to try some HST and some heavier TAP as I need to rotate out some old ammo.
