Ebay seller trouble

Whats up guys . I have a qestion on what I should do . I was the highest bidder on a scale for reloading which is a Frankford Arsenal Scale . Well I got the package in the mail and recieved a PACT bbk reloading scale . I only paid 30 bucks for the Frankford , and now the guy is asking me to send it back that his wife made a mistake and of course he will pay for shipping . Do I have to send it back ? im thinking about just doing it to be nice and get my new frankford. Does anyone know about these and what scale is better Thanks .

Depending on what the PACT is worth, perhaps you guys could strike a deal.

Maybe offer a little boot and keep what you received, or something like that.

I would think you would be under no obligation to return the scale, but, karma is a bitch.

Be real careful. If you send the seller that scale back and he never sends you anything to replace it then you might be out of a scale and your money. I would give him my number and have a talk with him over the phone. Maybe have him refund your money and you send the scale back and start over? Not really sure how you could be sure of it.

The seller made an honest mistake and shipped the wrong item.
He probably has the scale you received up for another auction.
He is offering to pay return shipping.
He is trying to make things right.
eBay isn't a lottery, it is a place for honest business transactions.

Don't you make mistakes?
Do you think you should get screwed for making them?

I would return the scale and let him ship you the item that you, bid on, won, and paid for..
I value my 100% feedback on eBay with over 500 transactions, buying and selling.
Do you want negative feedback for dishonesty?

You don't have to do anything.
But I would expect you to do the right thing and you know what that is.

charlieho is right, karma is a bitch.

Treat people the way you want to be treated....

You asked............

I'd definitely ask for a phone number to talk with him about it.

But he probably does have that scale up for another auction, or maybe his wife accidentally boxed up his scale and sent it.

I'd return it, especially considering he offered to pay shipping. Just the fact that you received an item almost certainly guarantees that you're not going to get screwed.

Good call, I would have sent it back, he seems to be a stand up guy and sometimes that's hard to find on ebay, that way he will leave you good feedback to so it works out.

Use Pay-pal for Fleabay transactions and you get buyer protection coverage - I haven't had to use that service yet (now i'm cursed for saying that) but thats the way I always buy. If the seller doesnt take it - I dont buy it.
