Is anyone REALLY getting discouraged by ammo prices?

I see alot of "ammo rants" but much like anything else thats on the rise we just bear through it but I'm wondering if anyone is seriously getting discouraged to the point to where you dont want to shoot as much. I dont shoot often but these prices are really getting me down. I'm thinking about just stocking for when the SHTF and only shooting like twice a year.

I normally get ammo from Dicks and its about $7 a case for 9mm. I looked at the flyer today and its $10 per box and thats the case price. .45 is $15 and they call that a sale? pfft

I have not shot because of the prices at times. I am new to handguns, so I put 1500 rounds through my XD9sc in two months to get familiar. Now that I feel pretty good about knowing my gun, I am only shooting about 150 rounds at a time vs. 250+. We just marked up a lot of our brass by 10% at the store I work at.

i don't care right now .. i'm okay with the prices .. but that's just me ... we don't shoot much so the ammo we buy now piles up .. i do get worried that it goes higher and higher .. if it gets too expensive then we will buy bulk with friends .

if some don't like it .. reload .. if you don't wanna reload find some friends to do like a group buy on ammo ..

my 2cents

Laz...

It is no fun to watch the prices rise. But then look at gasoline. It is relentless. Pretty soon we will see the economy go into the tank and you will probably be thrilled to pay what they are charging now.

So stock up with as much as you can afford. As soon as I get my bonus from work, I'm going to get a couple of thousand rounds of .223 at whatever the market rate is. I have been picking up a couple of hundred rounds here and there. It's like money in the bank.
