There are 3 things that discourage me.
1. No outdoor ranges open yet.
2. No indoor ranges close by.
3. Some reloading goodies I want are constantly on back order.

THe ever increasing cost of ammo should make everyone into a handloader. Sure, reloading supplies are increasing too, but you can buy & store 5K rounds off ammo (say 9mm @ $20/100) for $1000. For $500, you can have at least 5K rounds of components on hand. Yes, you'll have to invest in a decent reloading setup, but depending on yout time, it can be done for as little as $350 for a turret or $650 for a Hornady LNL w/ acc. The equip. last for ever & you've paid for it after 5K-6K rounds of 9mm.
If you are shooting any other center fire ammo, you're savings per round is even greater. If I had to buy factory ammo, I would only shoot a 22lr.

Since I started reloading it doesnt bother me one bit really. The price of components go up a little but not as much as factory loaded ammo. I have under $200 into my reloading set up which includes, scale and tumbler as well. You can get into it on the cheap very easily.

I dont reload, and I've only shot 200 rounds through my XD since I bought it.

At $15/50 its a little strapping to pick up more than 1 box at a time, honestly. I could order 500 rounds of Wolf for $110, but I usually dont have $110 available all at once, lol.

So its a little discouraging, b/c I'd love to shoot it more.

I think the prices are getting crazy, but like gasoline we can't really control it so if you want to go some where you buy the gas at any cost and if we want to shoot we pay the price of the ammo. I will shoot the cheaper stuff at the range and try to stock up on the premium ammo I carry to protect myself and loved ones with. I just can't shoot as much as I would like to.

You have another alternative, take control of your situation. Unlike gasoline, we CAN make our own ammo safely & for at least 1/2 the price of factory. Yes. I am always pushing this, it's the ebst way to have your cake & eat it too.
