I don't shoot near as much as I did last year. I was going out every friday afternoon. Now, I can't help but think $$, $$, $$ every time I pull the trigger.
$9.87/50 rounds of Blazer Brass when I started buying it. If I'd have known then what I know now . . . .

With the prices going up like they are, how much ammo is everyone stockpiling? For me, I feel like I can't rest until I have 1,000 rounds stockpiled. I'm at 450 WWB right now, and have been buying a box or two per week. I'm aiming for having a stockpile of 1,000 and when I go shoot, I stop at walmart and grab 100 or so...leaving the pile alone. And that's getting less and less often. I still have 100 or so of my carry rounds (hoping I never need them). Right now I'm paying $26.88 per 100, and fear it's going to get worse. Paranoid? Maybe. Realistic? Definitely

I have started thinking about stockpiling due to the rising cost of ammo so my answer to your original question is yes

I cant believe how much prices have went up just since october when I bought my XD. It does effect how often I shoot. On average, I shoot about 150 rounds every two or three weeks. I would love to shoot at least 100 rounds a week but I just cant see paying that much for .45 ammo.

ha when i bought my .45 last year i was paying 8.97 for blazer brass. after the ten percent wally world discount it was around 8.57 a box of fifty, i would shoot three to five hundred rounds a weekend and not even think twice, now i cringe at the thought of shooting fifty rounds. i am going to the range this friday and will probably hear a cha-ching instead of boom with every round. and don't get me started on .223......

I try to buy a box of each per payday. I am constantly searching for sales and pricing stores to get the best deal. I go to Wally, Gander, Sportsmans Warehouse every week. Gander is outrageous on their ammo prices a box of Remington UMC .40 180gr JHP's 100 count at Wally World is $31 something the same box at Gander $60!!! So it goes to show it's better to shop around. Used to go once a month now maybe every 4.
