Where to get best prices on quality SD Ammo?
I was wondering where you guys buy (best prices) your premium SD ammo?
(Winchester Ranger, Federal HST, Remington Golden Saber, Speer Gold Dot, etc) |

I try to buy local to support local shops and avoid shipping charges but a lot of times they don't have what I want.
One of the best places price wise I've found on the web so far has been Welcome to Ammunition To Go!

On average, I've found the best SD ammo prices at CheaperThanDirt.

+1 for Ammo-to-go. Good prices and fast service! Buy target rounds locally, but none of the local folks are close when comes to SD rounds, even taking shipping into account.
Just got some Hydr Shoks from Ammo to go for $5 a box cheaper than Cheaper-than-dirt.

Doubletapammo Shop
Factory reloads that are loaded hotter. Ordered a 50-round box of 124gr +P Gold Dots for $26 plus shipping.

Doubletap's are hotter. Nothing wrong with factory Gold Dots, but in 9mm, hotter is better.

How is +p in one brand any hotter than +p in another brand?? If it was hotter than +p wouldn't that make it +p+? I guess the only way to check this at least by the common guy is to get a chrono and check them in the same weapon.

Doubletap reloads are SLIGHTLY higher than +P, but not up to +P+. I think +P+ is more of a marketing gimmick than anything. +P is enough for sufficient penetration levels, but on occasion doesn't quite meet optimal penetration levels. Doubletap reloads have a bit more velocity to them, but don't push the +P+ threshold.

I also try and support my local gun shop, but of course the variety isn't always there (sales tax sucks also)
I use Welcome to Ammunition To Go!. Good selection, fast shipping, box always contains everything I order. Speer, Hornady, CorBon, Federal HST, Ranger Talons, DPX, Pow RBall, .223, 7.62 Russian, tracer, surplus...
